Iraq FA Championship
The Iraq FA Championship was a tournament held in 1949 as the first official national football league championship in Iraq.

The North Group included Al-Kuliya Al-Askariya Al-Malikiya (Baghdad), Montakhab Al-Kirkuk (Kirkuk) and Al-Tayour Al-Zarqaa (Mosul), while the South Group consisted of Al-Haris Al-Maliki (Baghdad), Sharikat Naft Al-Basra and Al-Minaa (both Basra). Al-Kuliya Al-Askariya Al-Malikiya and Sharikat Naft Al-Basra won their respective groups, and the final (played at Al-Kashafa Stadium) ended 1–0 to Sharikat Naft Al-Basra.[1]
