Hoogersmilde

Hoogersmilde is a town in the Dutch province of Drenthe. It is a part of the municipality of Midden-Drenthe, and lies about 16 km southwest of Assen.

In 2001, the town of Hoogersmilde had 730 inhabitants. The built-up area of the town was 0.19 km², and contained 305 residences.[1] The statistical area "Hoogersmilde", which can also include the surrounding countryside, has a population of around 1940.[2]

The Zendstation Smilde is located in Hoogersmilde, it partially collapsed after a fire on 15 July 2011.
