Background

The song first appeared as track 2 on Brown's and Thug's collaboration mixtape Slime & B on May 5, 2020.[2] Two weeks later, the former and his daughter Royalty started a dance challenge for the song called "#GoCrazyChallenge" after it started gaining initial popularity on streaming services.[3] The challenge sees a person dancing on the sidewalk outside a slowly moving car. According to Brown, the challenge was inspired by influencer Mufasa.[4]

Critical reception

Kenan Draughorne of HipHopDX called "Go Crazy" "the album's best song, cleverly sampling The Showboys' iconic "Drag Rap" to complement the free-ranging sonics".[5] Mitch Findlay at HotNewHipHop noted Thug's appearance on the song, saying that it highlights the fact that "he wears his fortune like a peacock wears its feathers" while Brown "understands the inherent dangers posed by living a lavish lifestyle".[6]
