Far Eastern University Institute of Arts and Sciences

The Far Eastern University – Institute of Arts and Sciences is one of the university's departments that offers academic programs for the college students. The Institute offers humanities and the empirical sciences programs.[1]

The Institute envisions globally competitive graduates and highly principled leaders who are lifelong learners, problem solvers, effective communicators, and community-oriented and culturally rooted citizens.[2]

The Institute now houses the Department of Communication, Filipino, International Studies, Political Science, Interdisciplinary Studies, Medical Technology, Psychology, Biology and Mathematics.

History

The Institute of Arts and Sciences was renamed after Far Eastern College upon its merger with the Institute of Accounting, Business and Finance to create Far Eastern University. It is one of the older institutes of FEU after IABF.

The Institute was headed through the years by educators who distinguished themselves in their respective fields. The past deans include Francisco M. Africa, Alejandro Roces and Wilson Faderon. Jaime An Lim, a Palanca award-winning poet and writer and a Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Teacher in 2003, was also one of the past deans.[3]
