Edappadi K. Palaniswami
Karuppa Gounder Palanisamy (born 12 May 1954) known as Edappadi K. Palaniswami is an Indian politician and the current Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, having assumed the office on 16 February 2017. He is also serving as the Convener of AIADMK. Edappadi in his name, is the name of his village.

Political career
Palaniswami has won the assembly election to the state assembly four times, in 1989,[6] 1991,[7] 2011[8] and 2016 in the Edapadi constituency.[9][10] He won the Lok Sabha seat from Tiruchengode constituency in 1998.[1] In the 2011 and 2016 assembly elections, Palaniswami won the Edapadi constituency again and worked as a cabinet minister in the AIADMK government.

He was appointed Chief minister of Tamil Nadu on 14 February 2017.
