Cynthia A. Johnson

Cynthia A. Johnson (born August 19, 1958) is a Democratic member of the Michigan House of Representatives.

Early life

Johnson was born on August 19, 1958 in Women's Hospital in the city of Detroit, Michigan to Mr. and Mrs. Johnson. She is the eldest of four siblings. She attended Detroit Public and parochial schools.

Career

Johnson ran for office in the Michigan House of Representatives 5 times before being elected on November 6, 2018 as the representative from District 5. Johnson continues to host radio show, StandUp Now with Cynthia A. Johnson, since 2013.[2] Johnson currently serves as Chaplain of the Michigan Legislative Black Caucus.[3] Johnson serves on three Legislative MI House Committees: 1) Families, Children, and Seniors, 2) Agriculture, and 3) Johnson serves as the Minority Chair of House Oversight.
