Professional career

Sims played high school football for Ouachita Parish, later attending Alabama to play college football.[1] Sims graduated after four years at Alabama and wasn't chosen in the 2018 NFL Draft. He later signed with the Washington Redskins as an undrafted free agent on May 2, 2018.[2][3] He suffered a season ending ankle injury in the first game of the 2018 season against the Arizona Cardinals, and was placed on injured reserve.[4]

On August 31, 2019, Sims was waived by the Redskins and was signed to the team's practice squad the following day.[5][6] He was promoted to the active roster on October 2, 2019. [7] Sims was released by the team on October 19, 2019, but re-signed to the practice squad two days later.[8][9] He was signed to the active roster on November 16, 2019.[10]
