History

The station began broadcasting in 1947 as CHEX-FM. In 1976, CHEX-FM became CFMP-FM, meaning ("FMP" FM Peterborough). Over the years since CHEX-FM went on the air in the 1940s, the station went through a number of ownerships, technical and format changes until 1992, CFMP adopted its current callsign and format.

The studio

The studios are located in the heart of downtown Peterborough at the corner of King St and George St. They are accessible to both listeners and performers. Numerous bands have dropped by the Wolf den for interviews and live performances including Theory of a Deadman, Default, 54-40, Great Big Sea, Matthew Good Band, Sloan, See Spot Run, Edwin, and Full Throttle.
