The station's signal reaches most of the London market, and under extreme conditions (such as fog), the signal reaches to just west of Chatham-Kent before it begins to interfere with Toledo, Ohio's WIOT-FM, which is also on 104.7 FM. Since the flip of CIQM-FM from AC to hot AC in 2010, CIHR-FM, along with CHGK-FM in Stratford (which has since shifted to CHR) are the only AC stations serving London. CIHR-FM has a directional signal to the west because of Toronto's CHUM-FM, which broadcasts at 104.5 FM and has a higher power output.

On March 17, 2011, the station applied to change the authorized contours by increasing the average effective radiated power from 7,096 watts to 8,950 watts. All other technical parameters would remain unchanged. This application received CRTC approval on November 10, 2011.[2]

In 2015, CIHR-FM was the first station in the London-Woodstock radio market to upgrade to HD Radio operations, adding a second subchannel, titled "80s & More"; in July 2017, it flipped to country. However, for those without HD Radios, the new digital subchannel is also broadcast on their website. After briefly broadcasting all Christmas during December 2019 CIHR-HD2 flipped back to a Classic Hits format branded as HeartFm Rewind in January 2020 Heart FM Rewind was a regular Sunday Morning program on the main channel.
