Formerly branded as Grace FM and later Inspire FM, CHJX is part of the Sound of Faith Broadcasting Inc. Group, with sister stations in Kitchener and Woodstock. Faith FM is listener-supported and depends upon some local advertising and donations to fund its operations.

Sound of Faith Broadcasting Inc. received CRTC approval to broadcast on the FM dial at 105.9 MHz in 2002.[1]

Sound of Faith Broadcasting Inc. applied to the CRTC for authority to broadcast at 99.9 MHz with an effective radiated power of 500 watts with a directional antenna system with signal primarily towards the east, to protect other stations that broadcast on or near 99.9 MHz, including CFGX-FM in Sarnia, CKFM-FM in Toronto, WKKO in Toledo, Ohio and possibly WXKC in Erie, Pennsylvania. This application was approved on February 2, 2009;[2] however, CHJX-FM began broadcasting at 99.9 MHz on August 31, 2012.

The studios were located at 254 Adelaide Street South, and the transmitter is high atop the tallest building in downtown London - One London Place. On August 1, 2014, CHJX-FM moved to new studios at 120 Wellington Street in "Old South" London. The station is managed by the Sound of Faith Board of Directors, and the broadcast engineer is Dave Currie. Anita Glabb based in London, Ontario, is the traffic manager. Live programming includes "Rise N' Shine with Dave" from 5:30 AM to 8:30 AM hosted by Dave Rektor, former OPP Sgt. Other hosts include "Heading Home with Marion" from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
