Byrd D. Crudup

Byrd D. Crudup (September 16, 1899 – March 12, 1960)[1] was an American football and basketball coach and college athletics administrator. He served as the head football coach at the North Carolina College for Negroes—now known as North Carolina Central University—from 1929 to 1931 and at Johnson C. Smith University from 1946 to 1949, compiling a career college football coaching record of 12–41–7. Crudup was also head basketball coach at North Carolina Central for one season in 1927–28, tallying a mark of 0–6.

Coaching career

Crudup was the fourth head football coach at North Carolina Central University in Durham, North Carolina and he held that position for three seasons, from 1929 until 1931. His coaching record at North Carolina Central was 8–15–3.[2]
