At the 2000 census there were 265 people in 91 households, including 70 families, in the village. The population density was 552.8 people per square mile (213.2/km²). There were 106 housing units at an average density of 221.1 per square mile (85.3/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 98.11% White, 0.38% Asian, and 1.51% from two or more races.[7] Of the 91 households 44.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 61.5% were married couples living together, 12.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 22.0% were non-families. 20.9% of households were one person and 17.6% were one person aged 65 or older. The average household size was 2.91 and the average family size was 3.37.

The age distribution was 33.6% under the age of 18, 6.4% from 18 to 24, 28.3% from 25 to 44, 18.1% from 45 to 64, and 13.6% 65 or older. The median age was 32 years. For every 100 females, there were 92.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 91.3 males.

The median household income was $32,344 and the median family income was $32,422. Males had a median income of $17,250 versus $17,500 for females. The per capita income for the village was $11,251. About 16.0% of families and 15.8% of the population were below the poverty line, including 16.9% of those under the age of eighteen and 3.8% of those sixty five or over.
