Apeejay Stya University

Apeejay Stya University (ASU) is a private, co-educational, international university located in Sohna, Gurgaon Haryana, India.[1][2][3][4] It is India's first meta and liberal arts university. ASU is a part the Apeejay Education Society, the managing body. It was established in 2010. ASU offers a wide range of innovative graduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes.

Background

The university was established by Dr. Stya Paul, the founder of the Apeejay Education Society. It was given the autonomous status in 2010 under the Act No. 10 of Haryana Private Universities (Amendment Act 2010). Currently, Ms. Sushma Paul Berlia, the daughter of Dr. Stya Paul is the Chancellor and Aditya Berlia, the grandson of Dr. Paul is the Pro–Chancellor.

Hostel and Campus

The university has a small campus with hostels for both boys and girls. The entire campus has a WI-FI facility. There is a basketball ground, football ground, gymnasium, dance room and music room to be used by the hostelers as well as for the day scholars. There are various clubs in Apeejay Stya University that work for the society and contribute in many diverse ways for the betterment of the society. Those clubs are:

  1. Rotract Club of Apeejay Stya University: in collaboration with the Rotract Club. The students and the teachers become active members of this club and join hands together to educate poor and destitute and help them in various ways.
  2. Fusion International Club: Since students from various corners of the world come to study here, the university provides them a common platform, where they can interact and discuss about their respective culture and traditions. Students get the opportunity to celebrate the respective Independence Day and Republic Days of their country.
  3. We the Students: This is a club, where all the book lovers join. Students and teachers with a passion for reading books and novels meet here to discuss about various topics.
  4. Proxima: This is a technical club formed by the School of Engineering and Technology of Apeejay Stya University. Which focuses on improving the technical skills of the students and organize a number of technical events in the University.
