Advance, Michigan

Advance is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Charlevoix County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2010 census it had a population of 328.[2] The community is located within Eveline Township.

Geography

Advance is located in the southeast corner of Eveline Township, bordered to the north by Lake Charlevoix, to the south by Wilson Township, and to the east by Boyne City. The city of East Jordan is 7 miles (11 km) to the southwest. The community of Advance was listed as a newly-organized census-designated place for the 2010 census, meaning it now has officially defined boundaries and population statistics for the first time.[3] Advance uses the Boyne City 49712 ZIP Code.[4]

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the Advance CDP has a total area of 2.75 square miles (7.12 km2), of which 2.72 square miles (7.04 km2) is land and 0.03 square miles (0.07 km2), or 1.02%, is water.[2]
