2020 Tarleton State Texans football team
The 2020 Tarleton State Texans football team will represent Tarleton State University in the 2020 NCAA Division I FCS football season as an independent. This will be the Texans' first season of FCS play. The Texans play their home games at Memorial Stadium in Stephenville, Texas. They are led by head coach Todd Whitten, who is in his 5th season of his 3rd stint as head coach and 11th season overall. Due to the NCAA's transition rules, they will not be eligible for the 2020 FCS Playoffs.

Previous season
The Texans finished the 2019 season 11–1 overall and won the Lone Star Conference title with an the 8–0 mark in conference play. They qualified for the NCAA Division II playoffs, but lost in the very first round to Texas A&M–Commerce.
