2012 Nevada Wolf Pack football team

The 2012 Nevada Wolf Pack football team represented the University of Nevada, Reno in the 2012 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Wolf Pack were led by Chris Ault in his 28th overall and 9th straight season since taking over as head coach for the third time in 2004 and later retired from coaching at the end of the season. They played their home games at Mackay Stadium and were first–year members of the Mountain West Conference.[1][2] They finished the season 7–6 and 4–4 in Mountain West play to finish in fifth place. They were invited to the New Mexico Bowl where they lost to Arizona.

Previous season

The Wolf Pack finished the 2011 season 7–6 and 5–2 in the final WAC play to finish in a tie in second place and lost the Hawaii Bowl against Southern Miss by 17 to 24.

In 1985, UNLV was forced to forfeit all 7 wins from the 1983 season and all 11 wins from the 1984 season, including their victory in the California Bowl.[3] Nevada was given a win on the Fremont Cannon as a result.
