Summary

The Sta.Lucia Realtors pulled off a 111-108 victory over Tondeña 65 Rhum in the opening game of the league's 20th season on March 6. [1] The Realtors won five of their first six games in the All-Filipino Cup, they scored their fourth win against San Miguel on March 22 and handed the beermen their first loss in four games in a 103-93 victory as Jun Limpot scored 35 points. [2] Their fifth win came four days later in an out-of-town game in Sta.Cruz, Laguna, repeating over Tondeña 65 Rhum, 110-105. [3] Sta.Lucia won just once in the semifinal round after finishing with a 6-4 won-loss slate in the eliminations.

In the Commissioner's Cup, the Realtors couldn't search for the right import and came up with Christopher Ward, who was fresh out of college and was range against last year's best import awardee Ronnie Thompkins of Swift in his first and only game, scoring only 12 points in a losing cause. [4] Ward was replaced by Louis Ely, who lasted two games with the Realtors. When Lambert Shell, their import last season who led Sta.Lucia to a third-place finish became available, the Realtors hired him in place of Ely. Lambert Shell was also their import in the Governor's Cup and in both conferences, the Realtors failed to make past the eliminations.
