Yulia Sergeyevna Alipova (Russian: Юлия Сергеевна Алипова; born 2 July 1990), also transliterated as Julia Alipova is a Russian-Kazakhstani model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Russia 2014. She later represented Russia at the Miss Universe 2014 pageant.

Life and career

Early life

Alipova was born in Taraz (then Dzhambul), Kazakhstan, and later moved to Balakovo, Russia. She is a cum laude graduate of a lyceum specializing in mathematics and physics. Alipova continued her studies at the Moscow Power Engineering Institute, where she became a heat power engineer and a certified Russian-English interpreter. Before beginning her studies, she took part in the development of a noise absorber for an electric power plant operated by Mosenergo.

Pageantry

Alipova represented Balakovo in the Miss Russia 2014 competition, where she was crowned the winner.[1] She later represented Russia at Miss Universe 2014. Although considered to be a strong candidate by pageant fans and several sites, she failed to place in the Top 15. Alipova wore an Elie Saab gown during the preliminary competition.
