Yalany Cuino Baio (born 10 October 1994) is a Bissau-Guinean footballer who plays as a midfielder. He also holds Portuguese citizenship.
He was born in Bissau to a Guinean father and a Bissau-Guinean mother.[1]
Football career
After playing for the youth team of Sporting Lisbon, he joined Liverpool in 2011 playing for the team's youth and reserve teams. He was released by the club in the summer of 2014.
On 16 January 2015, Baio made his professional debut with Sparta in a 2014–15 Eerste Divisie match against Den Bosch.[2] Later that year, he played in an international friendly for Guinea, but this was not a FIFA sanctioned game, as FIFA records still classify him as declared for Guinea-Bissau, with whom he holds dual citizenship along with Portugal.
In 2017, he signed a short-term deal at Bangor City before moving to Gibraltar to sign for Gibraltar United, as part of an ambitious project headed by new owner Michel Salgado.
