Whitworth Park School and Sixth Form College is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form located in Spennymoor, County Durham, England.[1]
It is a foundation school administered by Durham County Council and Spennymoor Community Learning Trust.[2] The school moved into new buildings in 2014 that were officially opened by Prince Edward, Duke of Kent.[3]
Whitworth Park School offers GCSEs, BTECs and Cambridge Nationals as programmes of study for pupils, with some vocational courses offered in conjunction with local colleges. Students in the sixth form have the option to study from a range of A-levels and further vocational courses.[4]
In December 2017, the school was rated 'Inadequate' by Ofsted [5] who identified poor achievement and lack of leadership in their report.
