Westborough, Surrey

Westborough is situated in the suburbs of North Guildford. It is located next to the Park Barn Estate. Westborough estate was built in the 1920s due to the growing population at the start of the 20th Century.

According to the Surrey Area Profile, Westborough has 7.3% unemployment, 18.9% of children are in low-income families and 43.6% of the residents rent from the local authority. In terms of resources, however, the area is relatively well off. The council houses are 'smartly double glazed and centrally heated.' There are plenty of play areas and a new £1.3 million day centre for the over-55s. Westborough is also a ward of the Borough of Guildford. Its population at the 2011 Census was 9,307.[1]

Westborough is home to the United Reformed Church and to a Community Primary School located on Southway.

Foxburrows Avenue

Foxburrows Avenue is a street located in the Westborough district ward/electoral division of Guildford, Surrey, England and is bordered by Park Barn East, Woodside Road and Southway. It is located within close proximity to the Royal Surrey County Hospital, Surrey University and A3. It is located just over a mile away from Guildford Railway Station.

The British property website Zoopla reports that Foxburrows Avenue has 119 properties (Semi-detached, terraced houses and flats) on the street with an average value of £218,542, compared to the average property value of £390,650 for the GU2 postcode area.[2]

Foxburrows Avenue is a mixture of owner-occupied and social housing.[3]
