Walter Mooney was an English professional rugby league footballer of the 1910s and 1920s. He played at representative level for Great Britain, and at club level for Leigh (Heritage № 214),[2] as a stand-off/five-eighth, i.e. number 6.[1]

Walter Mooney won caps for Great Britain while at Leigh in 1924 against New Zealand (2 matches).[1]

County Cup Final appearances

Walter Mooney played, and scored a conversion, in Leigh's 2-20 defeat by Wigan in the 1922 Lancashire County Cup Final during the 1922–23 season at The Willows, Salford on Saturday 25 November 1922.[3]
