History

The first church at Vikøy was a stave church that was built before 1316 and it stood until about 1838 when it was torn down. The present church was built to replace the old church. The present church was built using designs by the architect Hans Linstow. The church was consecrated on 24 July 1838. The white, wooden church seats about 300 people.[3][4]
