Viewmont Mall is a shopping mall located on the northern boundary of Scranton, Pennsylvania with Dickson City off Interstate 81.[3]

History

The mall was developed by Crown Construction and opened in 1968. It is currently anchored by J.C. Penney, Macy's, and a unique Dick's Sporting Goods / Field & Stream dual store. After the former Sears anchor store closed in 2016, the site was redeveloped into a Dick's Sporting Goods and Field & Stream dual store in 2017, one of only a few dual store concepts in the country. In addition to the anchor stores, the mall is currently home to more than 70 other stores and services including multiple chain restaurants inside as well as outside on the property.

In 2003, the mall was acquired by Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust (PREIT) as part of the merger with Crown American.
