The Vice President of Iraqi Kurdistan is the deputy head of an autonomous region in northern Iraq. He is part of the Kurdistan Presidency Council.[1] The Vice President assists the President in his or her duties and in the President’s absence is the acting President.[2]
The position is vacant since 1 November 2017.
2005–2017
On 14 June 2005 Masoud Barzani was sworn in by the Kurdistan National Assembly as new president.[3] Kurdistan National Assembly elected Kosrat Rasul Ali as the Vice President of the Kurdistan Region.[4]
