Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (Hindi: उत्तर प्रदेश क्रिकेट संघ), formerly United Provinces Cricket Team, is the governing body of the Cricket activities in the Uttar Pradesh state of India and the Uttar Pradesh cricket team. It is affiliated to the Board of Control for Cricket in India.

History

Maharaja Vijay Anand Gajapati Raj Bahadur or Maharajkumar of Vizianagram, was the founder President of Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association and Andhra Cricket Association. He was captain of Indian cricket team in 1930's and Indian Cricket Commentator in 1960's. He developed Indian Cricket a lot in Andhra and Uttar Pradesh. He married Princes of Kashipur and settled in Varanasi.

Home grounds

Green Park Stadium in Kanpur and Ekana International Cricket Stadium in Lucknow are the current home grounds for UPCA. Saifai International Cricket Stadium in Etawah district will be 3rd home ground for UPCA.

The International Level Ekana Cricket Stadium is another fitting tribute to the city of sport and a major thrust over the years will be to make it incomparable in terms of sporting variety, excellence and to offer world-class facilities to sportsperson and the spectators.

The infrastructure of the city and the overall impact goes a long way in making it one of its kind in this century. The Ekana cricket stadium is the state-of-the-art stadium aimed to take sports standards of Uttar Pradesh to the next level. The design, innovation & grandeur makes a huge impact on the face of the city, making it one of its kind in the country.

The proposed cricket stadium shall have world-class floodlights for the night matches with a promise of another glorious addition to the sports legacy so aptly and determinedly pursued by our State Government thereby fostering the camaraderie, spirit and the challenge of sporting combat that is so vital to the building of character and a strong nation as a whole. The 50,000-seater International stadium will be among the most advanced of its kind, with next-generation facilities for players, officials, VIPs, spectators and the media. The bowl design will bring the spectators closer than ever to the action. The design of this one of its kind stadium follows the guidelines and specifications laid out by ICC and BCCI for hosting international cricket matches.

The total area of the Project is 137 acres, out of which 71 acres is for Sports Infrastructure Project and 66 acres for Real Estate Project. It will host two matches, including the final, of the 2017–18 Duleep Trophy.[2] There is a tennis, badminton and squash court also.
