Unrepentant is a studio album by American guitarist Greg Koch. Released April 24, 2017 just prior to the formation of his new band Koch Marshall Trio.
Background

Greg Koch's release of the 2017 Unrepentant album is easily overlooked because shortly after its release Greg Koch formed the Koch Marshall Trio and subsequently released an album called Toby Arrives. The Toby Arrives album was released just months after the release of Unrepentant. Greg Koch and the Koch Marshall Trio released their debut studio album, Toby Arrives, on February 23, 2018.[1]
The first studio album Toby Arrives received high praise immediately and this has overshadowed the release of Unrepentant. [2]
Release and reception
Greg Koch assembled musicians from his previous bands to record this album: including two former members of Greg Koch and the Tone Controls (Gary Keohler and Kevin Mushel. The award winning band: Greg Koch and the Tone controls previously won five Wisconsin Area Music Awards for Blues Artist of the Year (1993, 1995, 1996, 1997 and 1998).[3]
The Unrepentant album was released April 24, 2017. Brian Sutich said this about Unrepentant: "The album clocks in at 37 minutes, and is chock full of songs that’d make both Stevie Ray Vaughan and country pickers proud, for its bluesy rock, with a touch of country."[4]
The Koch Marshall Trio often plays the title track Unrepentant in their live performance.[5]
