Ullu Baraaye Farokht Nahi (lit. The owl is not for sale) is a Pakistani drama television serial which revolves around the families of two landowning brothers. Its central character is Aasia, the youngest daughter of the elder brother, Yacoob. It has been airing on Hum TV since April 2013. The serial is directed by Kashif Nisar and written by Amna Mufti. It stars Noman Ijaz, Saba Qamar, Noman Masood, Irsa Ghazal, Sohail Ahmed and Yumna Zaidi. It is based on a short story of same name by Amna Mufti.[1][2]

Retitled as Aaj Rang Hai, it also aired in India on Zindagi from 3 February 2015 to 21 March 2015.[3]

Story

Set in a village, the story revolves around the families of two landowning brothers, Mian Yacoob (older) and Mianji (younger), who are estranged. Their children are married as Vatta Satta (exchange marriage). The story takes a dark turn when the daughter of one brother is murdered by the brother in revenge for his son who had been murdered by Mian Yacoob years prior. The daughter of Mianji now has to survive in the household of the murdered Daughter.
