The Great Tsivil (Russian: Большо́й Циви́ль, Bolshoy Tsivil' ; Chuvash: Мăн Çавал, Măn Şaval) or simply Tsivil in its lower course (also spelled Civil) is a river in Chuvashia, Russian Federation, a right tributary of the Volga River. Tsivil is 55 km (34 mi) long, its watershed area is 4,658 km2 (1,798 sq mi). Near Tsivilsk the Little Tsivil joins the Great Tsivil, forming Tsivil river, which flows into the Volga near Novocheboksarsk. Other major tributaries are Unga and Kuganar Rivers. Tsivil yearly runoff volume is 640,000,000 m3 (520,000 acre⋅ft).
