The Trade Centre Wales is Wales' largest used car sales company [1], their headquarters is in Neath, Wales and have showrooms in Neath, Merthyr Tydfil & Abercynon followed by branches in Wednesbury and Coventry trading under the brand name The Trade Centre UK, the latter being Europe's largest used car supermarket[2]. The company employs over 550 staff across multiple locations in England and Wales.

The company's head quarters are located in Neath Abbey, where the main workshop facility is also located.[3][4] The part-exchange outlet is located in Merthyr Tydfil,[5] and the Abercynon depot serves Cardiff.[6] CEO Andy Coulthurst said this resulted in a 70% increase in group turnover in the month to £11,000,000 and doubling pre-tax profits to £2,000,000.[7]

In December 2016 it was announced that the company would be opening their first outlet outside of Wales, in Wednesbury, West Midlands.[8][9] and in April 2017 The Trade Centre Wales opened its first ever Trade Centre UK branch in Darlaston Road in Wednesbury. Due to the success of the Wednesbury store The Trade Centre Wales soon announced they would be opening another used car showroom under The Trade Centre UK Brand and announced the chosen location of their new store in January 2018 as the former Leekes Store in Coventry near the Ricoh Arena.

Advertising

The company are known around South Wales for their radio advertisements heard on 96.4 The Wave, 102.1 Bay Radio, Real Radio and 106.3 Bridge FM. The adverts are recorded by Mike Doyle and feature fictional characters including 'Trevor' and 'Mario from Maesteg'.[11] The campaign won an award in the Commercial Radio Station Creative category at the annual Arqiva Commercial Radio Awards.[12] The company had negative feedback about their advertisements at first, stating that people felt they were making fun of local accents.[13]

Profit Track 100 and FastGrowth 50

In 2015, The Trade Centre Wales ranked 30th out of 100 on the Sunday Times BDO Profit Track 100, one of only three Welsh companies.[14]

In 2016, The Trade Centre Wales entered the Fast Growth 50 table for the very first time [15]
