Timici

Roman Empire - Mauretania Caesariensis (125 AD)

The diocese of Timis (Latin: Dioecesis Timicitana) is a suppressed and titular seeof the Roman Catholic Church in the province of Mauretania Caesariensis.[1][2]

The cathedra of the diocese was Timics, a Roman town of Mauretania Caesariensis which has been tentatively identified with ruins at Timsioni in today's Algeria, North Africa.[3]

There are three documented bishops of this diocese from antiquity and six bishops of the re-established titular bishopric in modern times. Today, Timice survives as a bishopric holder. The current bishop-owner is Donald George Sproxton, Perth's auxiliary bishop.[4]
