History

In September 2014, the school’s deputy head, Martin Goldberg, was found dead the day after he had been interviewed by police about images of children undressing in changing rooms which had been found in his possession.[7] Goldberg had worked at the school for 23 years.[8] Head teacher Andrew Hampton wrote in the school’s newsletter of his feelings of "utter shock and betrayal".[9]

Headteacher Andrew Hampton was elected Chair of the Independent Schools Association in 2014 for one year[10] and elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.

In 2016 the school applied to the Southend Borough Council to improve its sports facilities. This included the building of a new sports hall.[11][12]
