Thiruvaniyoor is an eastern suburb of the city of Kochi in the state of Kerala, India. Situated around 15 km (9 mi) south-east from the city centre, it is a part of Kunnathunad taluk.[1]

History

During the starting years of 19th century, almost 90% of the land was under the control of Devaswom or landloards. The major devaswom and landloards at that time were thiruvaniyoor devasam, Chemmanad Devaswom, Monappilly Devaswom, Muriyamangalam Devaswom, Purapperi Mana, Kizhakumbhagath Mana, Thuruthikkala Mana, Mathurakkattu Mana, etc.

JCI Thiruvaniyoor

Junior Chamber International (JCI Thiruvaniyoor) is the most popular social organization of Thiruvaniyoor. JCI movement started at Thiruvaniyoor in 2004. Adv A.C Chacko was the charter president. JCI has currently 55 active members. JCI Thiruvaniyoor got the most outstanding JCI Chapter award of India in 2013. JFP Saji Chameli was the outstanding chapter president of JCI India in 2013. JFP Roy T.P is the current year's President. Junior Chamber International (JCI) is a non-profit international non-governmental organization of young people. It has members in about 124 countries, and regional or national organizations in many of them. It has consultative status with the Council of Europe, with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations and with UNESCO. It was founded in St Louis in 1915. It encourages young people to become active citizens and to participate in efforts towards social and economic development, and international co-operation, good-will and understanding. Its members are called JCI Members. It publishes JCI World, a quarterly magazine, in six languages. It holds an annual conference, the JCI World Congress, in November of each year, and regional annual meetings, the JCI Area Conferences.
