Thethaitangar block

Thethaitangar (Hindi: थेथईटांगर) is one of the blocks of the Simdega district, Jharkhand state, India.

Thethaitangar is located 40 km from Simdega, and 111 km from Ranchi. It is bordered by the Palkot Block to the north, Jaldega Block to the south, Basia Block]to the east, and Simdega Block to the west. Nearby cities include: Simdega, Biramitrapur, Gumla and Raurkela.

Thethaitangar is situated 452 m (1,483 ft) above the sea level and includes 195 villages and 11 panchayats that border the Simdega and Gumla Districts. It is covered by numerous cellular network providers, including Vodafone, Airtel, Uninor, Reliance, BSNL, Aircel, Idea and Airtel 3G.

Languages

Languages spoken in Thethaitangar block include Asuri, an Austroasiatic language spoken by approximately 17,000 people in India, largely in the southern part of Palamu,[1] and Bhojpuri, a mixed dialect of Hindi and Bihari language groups with almost 40,000,000 speakers, written in both the Devanagari and Kaithi scripts, and Odia language[2]
