The Walton Group, Inc. (originally "The Walton Group, Inc. - Public Relations") is a corporation based in Provo, Utah. It is a full-service marketing firm that specializes in marketing and media relations for small businesses, nonprofit organizations, and government organizations (such as political campaigns). The Walton Group, Inc. is a historically significant business to Utah Valley. As the first public relations firm in Provo, The Walton Group, Inc. played a key role in the early economic development of Utah Valley, and is a key contributor to economic success today.[1][2]

History

The Walton Group Inc. was founded by Linda P. Walton in 1985 as a public relations firm. Their first clients included many startups and small businesses that later came to shape the Utah Valley economy. Some notable clients of The Walton Group Inc. are: Stadium of Fire, Utah Valley Symphony, The City of American Fork, Utah Valley University (and The UCCU Center), Springville Museum of Art, The Shops at Riverwoods, Merit Academy, The City of Highland, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, American Red Cross, several successful Utah political campaigns, and many significant nonprofit organizations such as Habitat for Humanity.[1][3][4][5]

Due in large part to The Walton Group Inc.'s efforts, these companies – once small startups – have grown to be large businesses that define and motivate Utah Valley economic growth.[1]

Civic involvement

The Walton Group Inc. has always had a strong focus on building the local community. Their involvement with numerous nonprofit organizations, committees, groups and local events have helped shape Utah Valley into the great community it is today.[5]

The Walton Group Inc. has been a key player in Utah's PR development and has mentored many PR professionals through various educational institutions including Utah Valley University and Brigham Young University. It is an active member of PRSA and APR. Its involvement with nonprofits like Utah's Food and Care Coalition, and Utah Valley Interfaith Association have influenced and helped individual Utah Valley residents on a personal level and Utah Valley as a community.[5][6]

The Utah Valley Chamber of Commerce was founded with The Walton Group Inc. as one of three founding members.[7]
