The Day Passed (Azerbaijani: Gün Keçdi) is a 1971 Azerbaijani romantic drama film directed by Arif Babayev.[1] It is an adaptation of Anar Rzayev's "Georgian surname" novel.[2] The film stars Leyla Shikhlinskaya, Hasan Mammadov and Hasanagha Turabov.The film was produced by the film studio "Azerbaijanfilm" named after Jafar Jabbarli. [3]

Plot

The plot is based on two people's unsuccessful relationship.[4] The film reflects mood of the main characters Asmar and Oktai), as well as the atmosphere of Baku.[4]

Asmar (Leyla Shikhlinskaya), one of the main personages of the film, appears to be happy at first glance. She has got diplomat husband, a daughter, and many friends around her. She has amazing impressions of exciting travels. In the past, she considered all these fun, but then this feeling gradually disappeared. Because Asmar still cannot find her place in the life.

The film has a philosophical end: “It is impossible to live only in the past and with the childhood memories. Everybody should have a future.”

The wish to rebuild her life and to make concessions in the Asmar`s soul, who separated from Oktai, is even stronger.

Such a philosophical is emphasized in the film is that it is impossible to return it back on the last day. This is reflected in all the movements of Asmar, in the memories of the movie, throughout the film. But at the end of the film, she feels that they do not need one another.

The film was awarded 2nd category. During the shooting, the film was not filmed in accordance with the scenery "The Day Passed". Hasan Mammadov did not agreed with the end of the scenario, and as a result, the authors were forced to make changes to the scenario.[5][6]
