The Assassin (Italian: L'assassino) is a 1961 Italian crime film directed by Elio Petri.[1] It is the feature film debut of Petri. It was entered into the 11th Berlin International Film Festival.[2]

Plot

Alfredo Martelli is picked up by the police with no justification. At the precinct, Martelli slowly discovers what the investigation is all about, he is the main suspect in the killing of his wealthy lover.
