Occupation politician

Tej Pratap Yadav is an Indian politician. He was a Cabinet Minister for Health in Government of Bihar. He was elected to the Bihar Legislative Assembly from the Mahua constituency as a member of the Rashtriya Janata Dal in 2015. He is the elder son of former Bihar chief ministers Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi.[1][2][3][4] He notoriously threatened to skin Prime Minister Narendra Modi alive for his administration's downgrading of Lalu Prasad's security from Z+ to Z.[5] Lalu defended his son over this.[6]

Early and personal life

He was born in 1986 to the former chief minister of Bihar Lalu Prasad Yadav and his wife Rabri Devi who is also a former chief minister of Bihar.[7][8] He dropped out of school after failing the 12th grade examination. He is married to Aishwarya Rai, grand daughter of Bihar's Ex CM Daroga Prasad Rai.[9]

Political career

He became cabinet minister in Nitish Kumar's government from Nov 2015 till July 2017 in spite of having no experience of holding public office and ignoring many other experienced politicians from his own party. He became a part of controversy for using Hindi word for "ignored" instead of the Hindi word for "expected" in Hindi during the oath ceremony. He was corrected by the Governor for the mistake.
