Ted Taewon Park (born December 4, 1994), better known by his stage name Ted Park, is an American singer, rapper, and songwriter from Madison, Wisconsin. Ted Park released his single "Hello (Who is this)" on September 15, 2016 which made the Top 10 on Billboard and Spotify's Viral 50 Charts. The notoriety and publicity from the single landed Ted Park a deal with Capitol Fr, Universal. Hello has received nationwide radio play, and is over 120,000 streams on Spotify.

Early life

Ted Park was born December 4, 1994 in Madison Wisconsin. Park grew up traveling with his parents many times, seeing 46 states before the age of 12. Park's family took trips frequently to give him an experience and understanding of the United States.[1] Park placed 6th in the US out of 200,000+ students in Kumon's Math program. Ted Park started playing the piano at 4 years old and advanced in the arts. By the age of 9, Ted learned to play Beethoven's "Fur Elise" piece in whole. In the beginning of Ted Parks 8th grade year, the Park's family decided to make the move back to South Korea.

Life in Korea was not easy for Park, being monolingual in English. Ted Park found a love for writing and creating records. Armed with his father's webcam microphone and Audacity recording software, began his recording career. Ted Park soon thereafter upgraded to a UFO USB microphone and began uploading his records to YouTube. During this time, Ted desired to pursue his music career and made the move back to America before his Freshman year at first Madison West and Middleton High school. After high school, Ted signed to an indie label, and moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, in January 2014. Ted Park parted with the label in July 2014, and made the move to New York City in September 2014 to further enhance his career.

Music career

2015: Slamhouse Music, Soulspazm
In March 2015, Ted Park signed with Neal Foggie and Mike Authentik of the in house label/management group Slamhouse Music. The Slamhouse Music partnership led to a distribution deal with Soulspazm Digital. On June 11, 2015, Ted's first single "Go" premiered through DJBooth.net and charted at #1 on their top 20 indie chart. Ted Park then followed up the single "Go" with the smash hit "Held It Down" featuring Taylor Gang artist Chevy Woods. The two records "Go" and "Held It Down" resulted in significant momentum and circulation on soundcloud and national radio. The buzz on the East Coast to an impromptu meeting with Muhamadaou Saho (Known as Saho) at a hotel party in Tribeca, forging collective "Plugged In" movement.

2016: Hello Who is this, Billboard, Signing to Capitol Fr / Universal

In 2016, Ted Park kicked off the year with two singles, "fake hoes" and "Varsity" with Atlanta stars Rich the Kid and OG Maco, Ted's single "I Know" premiered through NYC based media mammoth Complex and began to bring in momentum to Ted on the internet.[2] When the record released Ted was back home in Madison when he linked with mentor and colleague multi platinum producer DJ Pain 1, and they created the record "Hello (Who is this)", Released September 15, 2016. Hello received radio play through Wiz Khalifa's DJ and Power 106 dj DJ Bonics on Power 106 LA, Power 96.1 Atlanta & more. had hit Spotify's viral chart by October, and then hit Billboard's viral chart as well, landing him a deal with Capitol France / Universal Music Group. Ted was asked to headline Wazzup Media Groups Launch Party in Manhattan, New York by WMG CEO and Konvict Muzik A&R Director Dwayne D Teck Grant.[3] Then Ted Park headlined Rendevou, an event created by Max Cho & Allah Joseph at the legendary Webster Hall and nearly sold it out, at 300+ capacity. Ted is currently getting ready to re-release "Hello (Who is this)" through Capitol Fr, and working on his debut project.

2017: In The Bay
In April 2017, Ted Park released the single "In The Bay" produced by Decap, in a series of single releases in lieu of his major label debut on Capitol Fr.

2018: H1GHR MUSIC, Tours, and Plugged In EP
On March 17, 2018 while performing at South by Southwest (SXSW) Music Festival it was made public that Ted had become the newest addition to Jay Park's H1GHR MUSIC.[4] [5]. In April and May 2018, Ted performed on two tours with Dumbfoundead and H1GHR MUSIC, during which Ted released the music video for Hands in the Air featuring Jay Park[6]. The song was released on his first extended play (EP) album: Plugged In, named after his collective movement on May 2, 2018.[7]
