Szymany [ʂɨˈmanɨ] (German: Gross Schiemanen) is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Szczytno, within Szczytno County, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, in northerneastern Poland.[1] It lies approximately 9 kilometres (6 mi) south of Szczytno and 45 km (28 mi) south-east of the regional capital Olsztyn. The village currently has a population of about 550. Before 1945 the area was part of Germany (East Prussia).
