Anatomical terminology |
The superficial transverse metacarpal ligament is a thin band of transverse fibers of the distal portion of the palmar aponeurosis. It runs above or in front of the deep transverse metacarpal ligament.
It is also known as the "Ligament of Skoog".[1] It should not be confused with the natatory ligament, which forms the webbing in between the bases of the fingers.
