Sun Jun (Chinese:孙军, born June 22, 1969 in Changchun, Jilin, China) is a retired Chinese professional basketball player and an assistant basketball coach of the senior Chinese national basketball team. At 1.98 m (6'6"), he played at the small forward position.

Jilin Northeast Tigers playing career

Sun Jun played in Jilin Northeast Tigers of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) in his entire career. He is the current CBA record holder of most points scored in a game and most points scored in a season.[1] He is an eight-time CBA all star, and he won the CBA regular season MVP award twice, in the years 1999 and 2003.

National team career

Sun was selected by the Chinese national youth team in 1986. He was a member of the senior men's Chinese national basketball team between 1989 and 2003.

Coaching career

Sun had been a Jilin Northeast Tigers's player-coach for a long time, and he eventually became the CEO and general manager of the club. After an ownership change in 2007, Sun joined the coaching staff in the Chinese national basketball team as an assistant coach.
