Stewart Turner

(John) Stewart Turner FAA FRS (born 11 January 1930, Sydney) is an Australian geophysicist and since his retirement in 1996 has been Emeritus Professor and Visiting Fellow at the Australian National University. He is an elected Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science (1979) and the Royal Society (1982), and was awarded the Australian Academy of Science's Matthew Flinders Medal and Lecture in 1990. Turner was Foundation Professor of Geophysical Fluid Dynamics, Research School of Earth Sciences, Australian National University 1975-1995. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6]

He should not be confused with John Stewart Turner OBE FAA (1908–1991), the Australian botanist and plant physiologist.
