It is 170.3 km long highway from Delhi to Saharanpur. . Written by Ramji Suneja (Ex-President) Indian Industries Association (IIA) Lucknow Uttar Pradesh. whereinA Saharanpur chapter shall start an agitation for completion of Saharanpur Jalalabad patch road SH-57 by the month of July/August 2011. The highway is in a very poor state and is not worth talking to.The only hope for the users of this road is that now it is declared a national highway(nh 709b).

2012 In the Near Future, this would be the most preferred highway for Delhi to Haridwar, because of the widening up to 6 lanes work by SEW Prasad Consortium has already started and will be completed soon.

September 2014

The road is still practically non-existent for the stretch from Saharanpur to Goripur( Junction of SH 11 connecting to NH 1). Trees are being felled on both sides of the highway hence there are rubbishes periodically on the highway. The potholes are gigantic, the road is not lit at night, long stretches of road without any humans in sight and only 3-4 puncture repair centers en route on this road. The road is so infamous that the rowdy, rusty and daring truck/trailer drivers to avoid this long stretch of road unless absolutely necessary. Hence, if your car/SUV breaks down on the road there's a remote chance that someone will stop to help you out. Mobile network availability is erratic. Villages en route do not have electricity supply too.

Strongly advised that hatchback and sedan cars avoid this road. SUVs are in for a thrilling ride on this road and even then the suspension & chasis of the SUV will take a massive beating.

Only remote stretches in and around small villages/towns have drivable roads whose cumulative stretch would be 10 kilometers of the 126 kilometer stretch from Saharanpur to Goripur.

In past 60 years, state highways are not constructed in Uttar Pradesh. This is most appropriate are of Uttar Pradesh for Agriculture, but in the most worst condition in infrastructure. No govt since last 60 years work for this area and highway.

Chaudhary Ajit Singh is MP from this area and ruled around 40 Years with congress govt in central on the other hand Mulayam Singh ruled for the same period for Uttar Pradesh govt,

Till 01/04/2015 NO work has been started. UPSHA said they are going to start work still not started.

This contract was awarded to SEW prasad in 2011 and their target was to complete the project by September 2014. But they were failed and Govt canceled their contract. Again news is floating that the contract was not canceled.

We are only having hopes and waiting for its completion.

Continuing the progress of the development of the road, the road contract was extended for 2 years from Sep 2014 to Sep 2016 to SEW by State Government as Center was asking to take this road as NH for development.

UP Government denied for the same for the sake of canceling contract will cost approx 750 Cr. as the penalty so it can not be canceled.

We see a lot of paid advertisements floated by UP Government itself to enlist the developments undertaken and accomplished by them but there is no issue as people of this region were sleeping since long back (around 35 years), but now they know nothing could be as bad as it is near NCR region.

November 2017
