History

SomeOne’s London Studio

The company was founded in London in 2005 by Simon Manchipp, David Law, Gary Holt, and Laura Hussey. Before founding SomeOne, Simon Manchipp was a partner at HHCL, Gary Holt was the ECD of Lambie Nairn,[1] and David Law was creative director at ColeyPorterBell.[2] In the same year, the company moved into its Shoreditch studio and, in 2010, moved 12 doors down to number 67 Leonard Street.

Based on the company's creative output since launch in 2005, SomeOne was listed in The Drum as the most influential design agency in the UK[3] in 2013. This followed the company's rebranding of The National Maritime Museum, The Queen's House, and Peter Harrison Planetarium in London's Greenwich to Royal Museums Greenwich, as well as being the creators of London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Olympic Games Pictograms..

The agency attracted controversy surrounding their new branding for UK Parliament in 2018, with stories featuring in many UK newspapers[4] [5] [6] The work was widely debated and defended by the creative press. [7] [8] [9]
