Slammiversary is a professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) event produced by the Impact Wrestling promotion held in June. It is considered one of Impact's flagship PPV events along with Lockdown and Bound for Glory (the biggest show of the year). The name of the show is a reference to the anniversary of the first Impact (then called TNA) event, held June 19, 2002. The Slammiversary name was first used in June 2005. Slammiversary was the longtime host of the King of the Mountain match.

History

King of the Mountain

Slammiversary is the home of the King of the Mountain match, a five-man reverse ladder match which was previously contested for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship or the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. The match debuted on the June 2, 2004, edition of TNA's weekly pay-per-view in Nashville, Tennessee, and became featured at Slammiversary after that up until the 2010 edition. From 2010 to 2014, the King of the Mountain match was not featured on Slammiversary at all. However, the match made its return in 2015, where the newly announced TNA King of the Mountain Championship was on the line to crown the inaugural champion.
