Shweta Bachchan Nanda (born 17 March 1974) is an Indian author[1], journalist, host and former model. She is a daughter of Indian actor Amitabh Bachchan and actress Jaya Bachchan, and sister of actor Abhishek Bachchan.[2] She made her acting debut as a model for television advertisement.[3].

Career

Shweta modeled for the first time in September 2006, as a magazine entitled L'Officiel India. She once again had the seventh annual issue of the same magazine, in June 2009, with her brother Abhishek Bachchan.

In 2007, Shweta became the best-grader in the category - Next Generation - and during this series NDTV Profit. A series of interviews with different people was broadcast on the channel.[4]

In April 2007, Shweta came in an Indian talk show Koffee with Karan with Jaya Bachchan, in which Hema Malini and her daughter Esha Deol were also accompanying them.

In October 2018, Shweta launched her debut novel, Paradise Towers, published by HarperCollins.[5][6]

Personal life

Shweta married to an Escort Group businessman Nikhil Nanda on February 16, 1997, who is the son of Hindi film actor-producer Raj Kapoor's daughter Ritu Nanda, and son of Rajan Nanda. The couple has two children, daughter Navya Naveli Nanda (born December 1997), and son Agastya Nanda (born November 23, 2000). She currently lives with her husband in Delhi.
