Sri Krishna Satya (Telugu: శ్రీ కృష్ణ సత్య) is a 1971 Telugu Mythological film, produced by N. Trivikrama Rao under the R. K. Brothers banner and directed by K. V. Reddy. It stars N. T. Rama Rao, Jayalalithaa in the lead roles, with music composed by Pendyala Nageswara Rao. The film won the Nandi Award for Best Feature Film from the Government of Andhra Pradesh. Jayalalithaa won the Filmfare Award for Best Actress – Telugu for the year 1972. The film was dubbed in Hindi as Tuhi Ram Tuhi Krishna.[1]
Plot
The story begins at the time of Tretayuga when Lord Rama (N. T. Rama Rao) breaking the Siva Dhanusu bow of Lord Shiva, Chandrasena (Jayalalithaa), a Nagakanya, loves him and decides that her life is dedicated to him. But unfortunately, Mahiravana (S. V. Ranga Rao) king of Patalalanka captures her. During the time of war, Ravana (again N. T. Rama Rao), calls for Mahiravana as he has lost everything due to the sin of capturing Seeta and he requires his help now. Mahiravana promises him that he will bring Rama and Lakshmana (Nagaraju) by next morning and offer them to Maha Kaali. He heard that Anjaneya (Arjan Janardhan Rao) makes a fort with his tail surrounding Rama and Lakshmana. But Mahiravana takes the form of Vibhishana, converts Rama and Lakshmana into statues and takes them to Patalalanka. Outraged, Hanuman on the advice of Sage Narada (Kanta Rao) requests Chandrasena to know the secret about Mahiravana’s life. Chandrasena asks in return from Hanuman that his god should become her god. Anjaneya couldn’t understand the inner meaning of her wish and agrees for it. Chandrasena tactfully gets his life secret and Rama kills him. After that, Rama comes to know regarding the Chandrasena's wish because it is against the nature of Rama Avatar, he gives her the boon that her wish would be fulfilled in Dwaparayuga when he is born as Lord Krishna.
Lord Vishnu takes incarnation as Lord Krishna. Chandrasena takes birth as Satyabhama and marries Krishna after he gets back Samanthakamani. During this birth, Satyabhama is a beautiful proud, self-respected egotistical, possessive lady and wants Sri Krishna's love entirely to herself and could not share with others. So, on the provocation of Narada, she performs a religious ritual when she has to donate her husband and get him back by paying for him with the gold of his weight. She could not weigh him with her wealth not knowing that Krishna is the God and will yield to his disciple’s offerings whether it is a leaf, water or fruit. Ultimately, Rukmini (Devika) weighs him with one Tulasidalam (Basil leaf) after praying to him. Satyabhama realizes the real form of Lord Krishna and again becomes his devotee. Later Krishna as an embassy on the side of Pandavas moves for negotiations with the Kauravas. But it fails, they try to capture him, but he shows his "Vishwaroopam", entire world form in him and moves from that place. The movie ends Lord Krishna telling Bhagavad Gita to Arjuna.

Trivia
N. T. Rama Rao directed most of the film. N. T. Rama Rao's mentor Sri K. V. Reddy was in need of finance to send his son abroad for higher studies, but was reluctant to ask anybody for financial help. NTR came to know this fact from Shri K. V. Reddy' friend D. V. Narasaraju (writer), who is also close to NTR. NTR knew that Sri K. V. Reddy will not accept anything from others, so he requested Sri Reddy to direct his own production, SRI Krishna Satya and assisted him for his son's foreign education. When Reddy expressed his inability to direct the film because of his poor health, NTR said not to worry about it and asked him to sit in the sets of "Sri Krishna Satya" and guide him in case of need. NTR always had two or three scripts which were ready to hit the sets and he chose this film’s script. He decided to make the film from his own production house so as not to have any objections from his producers. K. V. Reddy was a high BP and Diabetic during the film’s shooting even then he tried his best to help NTR during shooting, NTR did most of the direction and credited Reddy in the title cards. This is a perfect example for the relationship between a master and his disciple and NTR has come out with flying colors in this situation. He used to have a lot of regard for his mentor Sri K. V. Reddy and paid his tributes in this way.
