Shi Zhiyong (Chinese: 石智勇; pinyin: Shí Zhìyǒng; born 10 October 1993 in Wutong Town, Guilin) is a Chinese weightlifter and Olympic gold medallist[1][2].


Career

Shi participated in the men's 69 kg class at 2012 Asian Weightlifting Championships. He won gold - snatched 144 kg and jerked an additional 180 kg for a total of 324 kg.

Shi participated in the men's 69 kg class at 2015 World Weightlifting Championships. He won gold - snatched 158 kg and jerked an additional 190 kg for a total of 348 kg.

Shi was the Olympic Champion in Weightlifting at the 2016 Summer Olympics – Men's 69 kg and won gold for the People's Republic of China. He snatched 162 kg and jerked an additional 190 kg for a total of 352 kg.
