Sherri Nienass Littlefield

Sherri Littlefield (born Sherri Nienass, January 24, 1987)[1][2] also known as Sherri Nienass Littlefield, is an American artist[3] and art dealer[4]. Littlefield is the founder and head curator of treat gallery[5][6] and the associate director of Foley Gallery[7][8][9][10] in the Lower East Side of Manhattan.

Personal life

Sherri was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, raised in Central Florida[11] and graduated from Eau Gallie High School in 2005. Littlefield currently resides in the Crown Heights neighborhood in Brooklyn, New York.[12] Littlefield identifies as Christian, is a practicing Lutheran, and attends Lutheran Church Missouri Synod church Our Saviour New York.[13][14] In 2014, she married music therapist Andrew Littlefield[15][16] in Atlanta, Georgia.

Education

Littlefield graduated with a BS in studio art in 2009[17] from Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida, where she was a member of Marching Chiefs and classmates with multi-media and installation artist Rachel Rossin. She received her Masters in fine arts in emerging media from the University of Central Florida in 2012, and was honored as a 30 under 30 recipient in 2016.[18]

After a summer internship at Tandem Press,[19] in Madison, Wisconsin, Littlefield completed graduate school at UCF.

Career

Littlefield moved to Atlanta, Georgia, and began working at the Savannah College of Art and Design. She moved to New York City in 2015.[1] Since 2015, Littlefield has worked at Parsons School of Design.[1][20] In 2016, Littlefield launched treat gallery, a project that donates a portion of sales to local non-profits and charities.[18][21] Since 2018, Sherri has served on the board for the NY chapter of the American Society of Media Photographers.[22] Littlefield aims to use her skills toward positive causes. [11]

Littlefield has described her own art as "empathetic, comical and sympathetic"[14][23] and "a celebration and commentary on the beauty industry and contemporary consumerism."[23]
